The family of late great artist Amy Winehouse has revealed a film about the star’s life is now in the works.
According to The Guardian, the Winehouse family will serve as executive producers, while Lily Allen’s mother, Alison Owen, will also co-produce the film.
“We now feel able to celebrate Amy’s extraordinary life and talent,” the singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse, said in a statement.
“And we know through the Amy Winehouse Foundation that the true story of her illness can help so many others who might be experiencing similar issues.”
The main question now is just WHO will step into the spotlight to play the legendary singer who sadly died at just 27 years of age.
After all the buzz of A Star Is Born, your mind might jump straight to Lady Gaga, however, Mitch has completely ruled Gaga out of the running, insisting on a British actress.
“It wouldn’t be Lady Gaga. She doesn’t speak our kind of English.
“I wouldn’t mind betting it would be an unknown, young, English — London, Cockney — actress who looks a bit like Amy.”
The film will be written by Kinky Boots writer Geoff Deane, with filming expected to begin next year.
