The alleged Gold Coast chapter president of the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang has been charged over the serious assault a man at Palm Beach over the weekend.

The 45-year-old man from Burleigh Heads was arrested by officers from the State Crime Command's Taskforce Maxima on Tuesday, charged with attacking a 42-year-old around 12pm on Saturday, January 19.

He is accused of knocking the alleged victim to the ground before repeatedly kicking and punching him until he lost consciousness.

The alleged bikie was charged with affray and refused bail at Southport Watchhouse.

He is due to appear before court tomorrow morning.

Investigations continue.
