The agriculture community in the Darling Downs and South Burnett is reeling after the tragic death of rural advocate Scott Sargood on Tuesday morning.

Mr Sargood died after his gyrocopter crashed on Bundoo Station near Charleville around 11:50am.

The 54-year-old rural champion who was well- known for his campaigning for vegetation management in South East Queensland, fighting for graziers to be able to use Mulga as fodder, earning him the nickname ‘Mulga Man’.  He was also the founding member of Queensland’s Green Shirts Movement.

 

He leaves behind a wife and two children and a shattered community.
