A Third Of Robina Hospital Patients Left Waiting In Ambulance

One in three patients taken to Robina Hospital via ambulance are spending too long waiting in the driveway.

Ramping is up four percent at public hospitals across the state since December 2017, with 24% of patients left on ambulance stretchers for longer than the recommended 30 minutes.

The figures were worse at Robina Hospital though, where the number of sick and injured people left twiddling their thumbs soared ten percent to 35%.

Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington said Queensland's health services were in desperate need of more support from the Queensland Government.

"Our hard working nurses, doctors, paramedics and mid wives need more help on the front-line to improve patient care, instead our public hospitals are bursting at the seams and ambulance ramping is rife," she said.
