A fake surf park has just been approved for Sydney Olympic Park. What a bloody time to be alive!!

Just a few days ago, the NSW Department of Planning and Environment approved the $24 million plans for the artificial surf lagoon to be in western Sydney.

The surf park will be known as Urbn Surf and is set to be designed by Perth-based MJA Studio for Wave Park Group.

The area will be inside the grounds of Sydney Olympic Park in a spot which is currently a car park.

It will include a man-made surf park, which will use Spanish Wavegarden technology to generate fake waves.

The new area will also feature a one- to two-storey building, which will hold retail shops, cafe, restaurant and bar.

The surfing will won’t be the only activity onsite, they will also have a toddler pool, playground, a skate ramp and a climbing wall.

The will also have a surf academy which will teach surfing as well as and training facilities.

Construction on the new project is expected to start in second half of 2018.
