Recycling helping feed millions

A local recycling initiative is helping feed the millions of Australians who rely on food relief.

This Summer Mobile Muster will be donating a meal to OzHarvest for every mobile phone recycled in January and February.

Environmental sustainability officer Aaron Izzard says, when they aren't useful anymore mobile phones can be dropped off at the muster unit at the Mt Gambier Library:

“People go through mobile phones fairly quickly these days because they break you know, they get a new one, the old ones redundant. So, they’ve got lots of materials in there that can be reused, including materials that are quite rare. So it’s a really good idea to recycle your mobile phone.”
