An RBT has led to drug charges in Mackay. Around 4 Thursday afternoon a car was pulled over on Harbour Road. While Police did the RBT they say the two men in the car were acting strange and decided to search the car. It's alleged a large sum of cash and items related to taking drugs were found. A 28 and 34 year old man were charged and are due to appear in Mackay magistrates court next month.

 

A man has held up a supermarket with a fork. The man allegedly came into the BRIDGE ROAD store around 3 FRIDAY morning threatening the store assistant at the cash register. He managed to leave the store with cash and tobacco. Fleeing the scene and still on the run POLICE are asking anyone who may have information on the man to call Crimestoppers.

 

Work is underway to create a new High Risk Team in Mackay in response to recommendations from Not Now Not Ever. The team is expected to start operations early next year. They'll be in charge of risk assessment and safety planning to keep local women and their children safe from serious or potentially deadly violence
