It's a story that might start out a little slow, but we promise it has a bit of meat to it...

Around 8:40pm on Saturday night, Police pulled over a Nissan Patrol driving on Capper Street without headlights.

The 30-year-old male driver claimed to have forgotten to turn them on, however after conducting checks the officers discovered he was wanted for an unrelated matter and arrested the driver.

The man requested to store his sealed bag of meat in the station fridge while in custody to keep it from going off, before Police realised that the meat was stolen by the man from a supermarket just prior to being stopped by highway patrol officers.

The man was consequently issued an infringement for driving in the dark without headlights, a criminal infringement notice for goods in custody, and dealt with in relation to the unrelated matter.

I guess there's only one question left to ask... where is the meat now?
