When it comes to cheese, Halloumi is quite a star. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, it has been flying off shelves and out of kitchens in the last few years.
If you are keen to spend a weekend devouring some authentic halloumi, clear out your plans for mid-November… The Cyprus Community of Melbourne & Victoria is throwing a festival!
See displays of the cheese being made stage by stage and indulge in the festival’s ‘kerasma’, which is the gesture of offering a guest with handmade delights – in particular, a tasting plate of cheese, a glass of wine and a recipe book of different halloumi dishes.
Where: 495-497 Lygon Street, Brunswick East
When: 17th-18th November
