Not too long ago we let you know that an $8 bottle of rosé from Aldi was named one of the best in the world.

Big news, right?!

Knowing that you can get world-class rosé for less than $10 is just great, but guess what guys, you can get even better wine from Coles!

A bottle of cabernet sauvignon that's currently available from Liquorland for only $6 has just received a double gold medal at the Melbourne International Wine Competition (MIWC).

If you're wondering what the big deal about that is, we'll explain...

According to the MIWC rules, a double gold medal is a "near perfect wine" that is granted a gold medal by every judge tasting the wine.

So basically, this stuff is delicious!

The wine in question is St Andrews Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 that promises "black cherry, plum and cranberry aromas" and pairs well with "a creamy pasta dish".

Bob Paulinski, Head of Wine Sourcing for Liquorland, First Choice and Vintage Cellars told Nine News that this is a big win for the supermarket wines.

"A win like this shows that our exclusive wine brands can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the market, and is a testament to the incredible work our suppliers do in making these wines."
