There's been a two vehicle crash in Kyabram overnight which has seen 8 people taken to hospital in various conditions.

The crash between the Ford sedan and a station wagon occurred at the intersection of McEwen Road and Webb Road around 9.15pm.

Three children were airlifted to the Royal Children's Hospital - one 8 year old girl is in a critical condition while a 7 year old boy and 11 year old boy are in serious but non life threatening conditions.

A 43 year old man and a 34 year old woman who were in the station wagon were transported by road ambulance to Shepparton Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

In the Ford sedan, two 17 year old girls from New South Wales were taken to hospital in non life threatening conditions, while an 18 year old pregnant woman was also taken to Bendigo Hospital in a non life threatening condition.

She has since given birth and the new-born has been taken to the Royal Children's Hospital in a stable condition for monitoring.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have returned to the scene today after working through the night to determine the cause of the accident.
