500 People Evacuated After Opera House Gas Leak

In breaking news, parts of the CBD have been closed following a gas leak at Sydney Opera House.

Macquarie Street is now closed in both directions at Bridge Street, with traffic directed down Albert Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.

Fire and Rescue NSW are at the scene, with 500 people evacuated from the concourse and adjoining restaurants.

The gas company is also present, with firefighters monitoring for gas levels.
