500 People Evacuated After Gas Leak In Sydney CBD

In breaking news, 500 people have been evacuated in the Sydney CBD following a gas leak.
Fire & Rescue NSW Acting Superintendent Greg White has said that the gas leak in Ultimo occurred at 1.20pm this afternoon.
The incident happened on Wattle Street, with a 100m exclusion zone currently in place.
"When the first crews arrived, they found that an excavator had hit a gas main at a construction site," Mr White said.
Wattle Street is closed, with traffic being diverted east and west.
The gas company is now in attendance.
