Hunter rail commuters are breathing a sigh of relief after Monday's strike action was suspended.

The Fair Work Commission have halted all industrial action on the network for six weeks following a hearing today, meaning the 24-hour strike planned for January 29 will not go ahead.

However Hunter train commuters can still expect disruptions on the network during today's afternoon peak with the current overtime ban to remain in effect until 6pm.
