The Labor Government has today announced that the Victorian Budget 2018/19 will invest $180.8 million to build and upgrade 60 regional schools. Across the Shepparton area, $21 million will go towards building and upgrading schools including:

  • $20.5 million towards the Shepparton Education Plan to fund Stage 1 of the new secondary school and an Integrated Children Centre at Mooroopna.
  • $500,000 for Ardmona Primary School to upgrade and modernise facilities

Minister for Education James Merlino also today announced the current Shepparton High School site as the location of the new better-resourced single secondary school.

It will provide for a larger student body who will have access to the full breadth of the senior secondary curriculum, including both VCE and VCAL curriculum.

Architects Gray Puksand have been appointed to design the new secondary school and Integrate Learning Centre and detailed design work will now commence.

The Victorian School Building Authority will continue working with schools to deliver these upgrades.
