Clifford Park’s annual search for a Face of Weetwood Ambassador has taken an exciting new turn for 2019.

Nominations for the prestigious title poured in this year, which resulted in the Toowoomba Turf Club naming, for the first time, not one but TWO Faces of Weetwood.

This year’s honours belong to local model and assistant teacher, Megan Buckley and fashion entrepreneur Abraham Slatter.

Toowoomba Turf Club Chief Executive Officer Blair Odgers said the club was delighted with the strength of this year’s nominees and thrilled to be announcing a pair of event Ambassadors.

“The Face of Weetwood” is very special to the Club.  We had an incredible amount of quality nominees this year.

The Club has chosen to expand the promotion this year – featuring a male and female ambassador.”

Mr Odgers acknowledged fashion as playing a large part of current racing events and that’s what prompted this year’s “twist.”

Ladies go to great lengths to dress up for Weetwood – but the men have really stepped it up in the last few years.  Having two local fashion identities joining us as Ambassadors is great fit.”

“I am extremely honoured and excited to be part of the Weetwood team for 2019.  I can’t wait to be part of all the festivities in the lead up, it’s such an exciting time for Toowoomba”, Ms Buckley said.

“What an honour.  I love race days at Clifford Park and I love seeing people go to great lengths to get dressed up and have a fantastic day at the track.”  Mr Slatter said.

Toowoomba Turf Club Chairman Kent Woodford congratulated Megan and Abraham on their appointment as joint Faces of Weetwood.

“Megan and Abraham both have wonderful profiles in Toowoomba, and as the faces of Weetwood, will assist with raising the profile of the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood locally as well as interstate.

The Community is extremely proud of this event and Megan and Abraham will represent the Weetwood and all associated events with confidence, style and sophistication.”

Megan and Abraham will represent Clifford Park at all events including:

  • TAB Weetwood Golf Day
  • Breakfast with the Stars
  • Barrier Draw
  • The TAB Weetwood Calcutta Sportsman’s Lunch
  • The Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood Race Day
