Bullying is becoming a bigger issue as more and more children are being taunted both in school and online by their peers, with some people saying that children should be charged for the act.

Psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg spoke to Hit105's Stav, Abby and Matt this morning about his new book, Surviving Adolescents 2.0: Understanding The Teenage Brain, and whilst discussing the subject of teenagers and dark thoughts, Abby thought she would ask the outright question.

Michael is an expert on children's psychology and so Abby simply asked him "do you believe that kids should be charged with bullying?".

He then replied to her question by saying that only repeat offenders should be charged with the act of bullying.

"I think that if they engage in a behaviour, particularly online behaviour, which is against the law, then they should face some consequences.

"Might be a warning to begin with, but if they're a repeat offender, absolutely."

He then continued to explain why he believes that children who continually bully their peers should be faced with some sort of consequences:
