This morning on the show, Riley-Rose & Seamus discussed the shark culling happening up in the Whitsundays after two shark attacks last week left tourists with serious injuries.

“Human beings are a bit of a cancer in this world, the ocean is something that is untouched by us. When we go in and start culling sharks, it throws the whole ecosystem out”, Seamus said.

The team had a chat to Whitsundays MP Jason Costigan on the situation happening up north.

What we do have is a problem with sharks at the moment that has not been picked up.

“There are shark nets and drum lines that have been there for 50-60 years from Cairns to the Gold Coast and incredibly, in the Whitsundays, we don’t have any.

We need to be protecting our locals and tourists because the tourism industry up in the Whitsundays is rolled gold and people want to feel safe.

"Where these shark attacks happened last week, it’s not famous for swimming, it’s famous for boating. People need to be using common sense”, said Mr Costigan.

What are your thoughts on the shark culling in the Whitsundays?
