Australia was already emotional after the surprise proposal on Bachelor In Paradise, and minutes later fans were in a frenzy when it was announce Ali Oetjen would be the next Bachelorette!

Fans of the show have watched Ali, who first appeared on Tim Robards' season of 'The Bachelor, look for love on the spin-off show. She seemed to form a strong connection with American firefighter Grant and committed to moving to the states to be with him.

Unfortunately, it didn't work out as planned, and Fifi, Fev & Byron had many questions for her when she phoned in on Tuesday morning.

"Grant and I had such an amazing time in Fiji. Everything that was said, done and felt was really true and genuine.

"We tried to make the long distance relationship work on the outside. I went over to LA to see him, but we realised the distance was too hard and it did get between us."

Co-host Brendan Fevola asked Ali if she ever met Grant's parents, and she said NO!

Fifi Box sympathised that the time on set was so intense, but Ali feels it was the 'perfect place to meet someone'!

"Everyone has the same intentions in there. You cut to the chase, there are no games. You are asking the hard questions. You find out quickly if they want to get married, how many kids they want... so it's a very intense environment."

Fevola, known for his cheek, asked Ali whether she thought last night's broadcast looked 'fake'. Ali brushed it off, saying that despite the rumours around the show, there are things she and Grant have agreed to keep private.

When it comes to her new venture on as Australia's Bachelorette, she has high hopes!

"I think three out of the five Bachelors are still in relationships, which is amazing."
