It was a hugely successful night for Carrie Bickmore. She launched the sale of her new beanie range last night on The Project. In one hour they made over $2.1 million. Over the last 18 hours have raised a whopping $4 million.
For the last few years 'Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer' has been selling beanies in order to raise money for vital brain cancer research.
Carrie's life changed when her husband passed away from brain cancer, "I am one of far too many Australians whose lives have been irrevocably changed by the tragedy of brain cancer. On December 27th 2010 my husband Greg Lange died at just 34 years of age. He had lived with the disease for close to a decade. It took away his mobility, it took away his independence and eventually it took his life. No one should have to suffer this way, and until we find a solution, people will."
Carrie and Greg had son Oliver in 2007. Last night Oliver joined his mum on The Project to revel just how much money they raised. It was a touching moment between the pair.
On Carrie & Tommy this arvo they had Colin called in to thank Carrie for last nights show, it took an emotional turn when he told us about his brain cancer journey.
Carrie posted this on her Instagram last night.
Tommy even helped out by getting naked and bungee jumping!
