Carrie Bickmore Reacts To News $100M Will Be Funded To Brain Cancer Research

Speaking with co-host Tommy this afternoon, Carrie Bickmore spoke about being absolutely blown away by some very positive news for cancer research over the weekend.

"I had an incredibly exciting day yesterday that I wanted to share with you.." she said

"I got a call from the health minister saying they have a really exciting brain cancer announcement on Sunday and they'd like me to come down for it."

"I went down there and was almost blown away when I heard the government announce a brain cancer fund of $100 million!"

"That's more funding than brain cancer has ever received in Australia."

"Their aim is to double the rate of survivors in a decade, which is incredible as at the moment the survival rate hasn't changed in 30 years."

"I think its a game changer, honestly in the time I've had brain cancer as a part of my life, in the time I've been involved in campaigning, it's the first time I've gone... there is hope."

"It's an incredibly exciting day and I cannot wait to see what they do with this money and I just hope that it's spent well."

Such fantastic news!
