Last Friday, Amos, Cat & Angus spoke with Ross Wait, who is not only the husband of our Executive Producer Mel, but a major supporter of the Zahra Foundation.
Ross joined us in the studio ahead of his daunting Kokoda Trek, all in the name of raising funds for the Zahra Foundation, a charity supporting women and families affected by domestic violence.
In 2010, Zahra Abrahimzadeh was murdered by her husband in Adelaide, leading her three children to establish the Zahra Foundation in her name. The foundation supports women and their children who lives have been turned upside down by domestic violence.
Now, Ross, Kaizaad Mehta, Jim Farnan, Michael Newell and Dean Pead all preparing to take on the 96km Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea in an attempt to raise $50,000 for the foundation.
Let Ross explain Zahra's Quest below:
“Inspired by our good friend Arman Abrahimzadeh, the group will be raising critical funds to contribute to the Zahra Foundation's - Opportunity Knox program," Zahra's Quest GiveNow page reads.
“Opportunity Knox is grants program for women and their children, to support them with the costs associated with education and entering or sustaining employment.”
