What has always been a topic of much debate in the Coffs Coast region, has now resulted in a warning being issued by the North Coast Public Health Unit.

It comes after an unvaccinated child of the Coffs Harbour-Woolgoolga area contracted Measles, with doctors warning there could be more cases.

Anyone in the Coffs Harbour-Woolgoolga area who is not immunisted should be wary of the symptoms, particularly those who were in Woolgoolga on August 28 or in the Coffs Harbour central business district on August 29 or 30.

Symptoms include fever, sore eyes and a cough followed by a red, blotchy rash spreading from the head and neck to the rest of the body.

If you are concerned, phone the North Coast Public Health Unit on 1300 066 055.
