Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten joined 2DayFM Breakfast to discuss the very busy few days of politics that unfolded last week, which saw yet another PM take over.
"For a couple of weeks, there had been a lot of undermining of him by his own crew," Mr Shorten said.
"We'd try to get a story out that we think the government is doing the wrong thing here or there and the journos would say 'we haven't got space for that - we have to hear about what their own side are saying about them'.
"I think his own team treated him pretty poorly."
The chat this morning came after the latest Newspoll was released, which had Bill Shorten ahead of new PM Scott Morrison as preferred prime minister - and it's the first time this has happened in a while.
"I think the sooner the people have a say, the better."
