The Westmead Connectivity Centre has just opened up a new branch of the 'Dress for Work' program.
Dress for Work is a not-for-profit organisation relying on donations to dress men who are in financial need for job interviews and important appointments, providing clothes to make a good first impression.
The Westmead Branch had at least 10 clients in the first week of being open and had really good reactions. Some of the men had never worn a suit before and were very thankful to be all suited up and ready to go onto their next adventure.
Shyama Sri is the Project Officer for Dressed For Work and immediately notices changes in attitudes when guys get into a new suit, but they do need our help.
Take a listen to their touching story below, they are truly changing lives.
Dress for Work is located in the Westmead Connectivity Centre and co-shares the space with Aboriginal Employment Strategy and Fusion Training. It is open from 9.30am-3pm every Monday.
To donate clothes, volunteer or refer a client, call 8709 0200 or visit their website here.
