Tonight's episode of Australian Ninja Warrior had most of Australia sitting on the edge of their seats.

In the first semi-final of the season, we saw contenders take on a super-challenging extended obstacle course filled with crazy new elements including the spinning pole - which we've affectionately nicknamed the spinning rod of death.

We saw many Ninjas lose their way on the spinning rod of death - or the evil rings (not their actual name but they look so hard that we can't even)

But out of all of tonight's semi-finalists, only FOUR Ninjas managed to actually FINISH the course, because it was THAT hard. It took this first contender four minutes to complete it! Keep in mind, in the initial heats, it took most contenders just over a minute. So this course was A LOT harder.

William Laister everyone.

He made it look like a piece of cake.

This was us watching him.

The man with the mo, Alex Matthews, also made it through the course - he was a class act throughout it, from the jump hang to the tyre swing to that crazy climbing wall at the end. LEGEND!

And Mike Snow nailed the course as well, but guys look at him. He looks like a character out of Lord Of The Rings. Machine.

Meanwhile, still us:

The last contender of the night to complete the course was Rob Patterson - and he finished the fastest!
