The first six contestants competing for glory on Australian Survivor this year have been revealed!
The show’s theme is Champions v Contenders, and four of the “giants of Australian society” who will make up the Champions tribe have been revealed.
Moana Hope – AFLW Player
Moana initially played for Collingwood in the AFLW, and will play for North Melbourne in 2019.
Shane Gould – Gold Medal Olympian
Shane won three gold medals, a silver and a bronze in swimming at the 1972 Olympics.
Mat Rogers – Professional Rugby League Footballer
Mat played for the Cronulla Sharks from 1995 - 2001 before switching to rugby union. He later returned to rugby league in 2007 to play for the Gold Coast Titans.
Damien - Former Special Forces Commando
Damien is an Australian Veteran from the war in Afghanistan where in 2009 he lost both of his legs. He now has two prosthetic legs, has competed in the Invictus Games and is basically super inspiring and the type of person we love to see on Survivor.
The following three players will be on the Contenders tribe, proving that regular people do still have a place on Survivor (as they should!).
Jenna – FIFO Supervisor
Jenna works as a supervisor in the WA mines, and is also a proud mum.
Robbie – Construction Manager
Robbie once competing in swimming at a national level, but later completed his Masters in Architecture and became a Construction Manager.
Tegan – Management Consulting
Broome resident Tegan is a mum of two, and an experienced camper, fisherwoman and traveller.
Australian Survivor hits our screens later this year.
