It's true that Australia was torn once this year's season of The Bachelorette came to an end; while we were thrilled that Sophie Monk had found true love with Stu Laundy, it also mean that her time on our small screens had come to an end.
It's been rumoured for quite some time that Sophie Monk would be returning to our small screens earlier than expected, and while we can't always believe what we read in tabloids, this was one rumour that Australians across the nation were really holding out for.
Well, you can finally let out a big, long sigh of relief because Sophie Monk has officially signed the role as the host for Channel Nine's Love Island!
NW confirmed the news earlier this morning and already we're asking all the important questions such as, will she just be The Flack style host or also the narrator!?
According to a source close to the publication, the 38-year-old had to fight her way out of her contract with Ten in order to sign on with Nine.
“Soph struggled to get out of her contract after the Bachelorette, but she did it, and good on her!” a source close to the former Bachelorette said.
“She’s going to kill it as the host!”
The 38-year-old self-proclaimed bogan wedged her way into many-an-Aussies' heart during her time as the Bachelorette and so, it's safe to say that she'll be welcomed back onto our TVs with open arms.
The cast of Love Island is still yet to be confirmed, however, a little bird has told NW to keep an eye on Married at First Sight's Sharon Marsh, 32, and Andrew “Jonesy” Jones, 39.
What fantastic news to begin the week!
