The Big Bang Theory fans got some sad news yesterday, learning that their beloved series would be coming to a close after its 12th season.
Now, in a shock twist, we may have learned just why the longest running multi-camera comedy is coming to an end.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, they have implied that CBS cancelled the show because Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, was ‘sick of it’.
“But Parsons was ready to say goodbye to the ensemble sitcom that made him a household name. Since there is no show without Dr. Sheldon Cooper, next spring’s 12th season finale of The Big Bang Theory will mark the end of the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history.”
We’re not sure who could be sick of $1 million per episode, but fair enough.
