With filming wrapped up long ago, the Married At First Sight couples are finally watching their weddings and awkward dinner parties on TV with their families and possible new partners.
For some participants in the ‘social experiment’, not everything is so pleasant to watch.
Ryan, for example, has had to watch his ‘wife’ Davina plot to cameras how she is going to ditch him for Tracey’s ‘husband’ Dean.
All these secret plans and confessions to camera were all happening while Ryan was in the kitchen cooking her dinner or WHILST HE WAS GETTING A TATTOO WITH HER.
Now, speaking with Karl and Georgie on The Today Show, Ryan has opened up about how difficult it’s been to watch.
“It’s definitely a new feeling watching it on telly. Now I get to see it, it’s a bit different,” he explained.
When asked how he gets through watching all of Davina's crap, Ryan is trying to look at the positives… if there are any.
“I don’t know, I’m pretty bubbly but you’ve just got to look at the positives really. I don’t know what the positive is, but I’m sure it’s there.
“At least I can see what it was for what is was. What can you do? It is what it is.”
Unlike many of the fame-hungry participants on these reality shows, Ryan was definitely genuine in his attempt to find love.
“Everyone kept saying ‘do you want to settle down?’ I already did settle down on my own, so I wanted someone to join me on that journey and sort of not end up doing [what Davina did].
“If you can laugh it off it’s sort of better than a tear…I’ve been at the gym a lot more this week trying to get it out,” he laughed.
Last night, viewers had to watch Ryan and Davina get matching tattoos knowing what the controversial brunette was up to.
“It’s hard to watch that because I feel like an idiot. I didn’t know what was going on. To get a tattoo with someone who’s doing that, I sort of feel like a bit of a dipstick”
Karl tried to give him the ol ‘there’s plenty of fish in the sea’, but it seems Ryan is struggling to stay hopeful.
“That’s one way to look at it, but there wasn’t fish in the sea before I went on the show. So yeah, there was a bit of a drought. I think there was only a bit of water, let alone a sea,” he laughed.
In a final attempt to wingman the handsome Sydneysider, Georgie assured him, he’s probably won the hearts of many Australian women watching the show, to which he encouraged: “Come find me!”
