Nicole Kidman has taken home the first award of the night at the 75th annual Golden Globes.
Kicking the night off on a high for Australia and women around the world, homegrown actress Nicole Kidman has deservingly won her fourth Golden Globe for her role in the smash hit TV show Big Little Lies.
Celeste Wright, the character whom Nicole portrays in the show, suffers from an abusive parter (Alexander Skarsgard). Noting that her character's story is the centre of what everyone in that room of the The Beverly Hilton is protesting against, Nicole had something to say:
“This character which I played represents something that is the centre of our conversation right now: abuse.
"I do believe and I hope that we can illicit change through the stories we tell and the way we tell them.
"Let's keep the conversation alive and let's do it."
Whilst giving the warmest of thanks to her entire support circle during her acceptance speech, the 50-year-old touched everyone's hearts when she finally came around to her loving children and, of course, husband Keith Urban.
“First cab off the rank, that means my daughters are still awake so, Sunny, Faith, I love you, I’m bringing this home to you, babies...
“Keith Urban, when my cheek is against yours, everything melts away and that is love - it’s true. I love you so much."
