If you feel sick on a work day, you could probably call up your boss and just let them know that you're feeling unwell, right?

It's usually a pretty simple procedure, but if you just happen to be the host of Survivor Australia, it's not that easy...

Jonathan LaPaglia is coming back to host the second season of Survivor Australia and if you notice that in some episodes he looks a tad unwell, it's because he was.

Whilst filming the upcoming season, the presenter, as well as a fair few crew members, got extremely ill.

So ill in fact, that they thought they had contracted the Zika virus!

"Last year, I didn’t get tested, but there was a bunch of us, we got some sort of mosquito borne illness, maybe zika, and we were so sick."

But did Johnathan call in sick?

Well, he told The Daily Telegraph that it simply wasn't an option for him.

“It (filming Australian Survivor) is really intense because it never stops.

"There is no such thing as a day off.

"Once it starts, it keeps on going, even if you are sick."

The Zika virus is a mosquito -transmitted virus that became a worldwide epidemic in 2015.

The World Health Organisation announced the end of the virus crisis in November last year, which means that the Survivor crew potentially could have been exposed to it!

Luckily, the presenter and crew members were okay and eventually recovered.

This is going to be an intense season for EVERYBODY...
