The beloved company is going ahead with their streaming service, today revealing that it’s set to be cheaper than Netflix!
So, what will this mysterious service be called?
Disney chairman-CEO Bob Iger spoke to Variety about the service, sharing that we’ll all be knowing it as Disney Play.
The launch of Disney Play is currently “the biggest priority of the company during calendar [year] 2019.”
While we’re pumped that it’s going to be cheap, there won’t be nearly as many titles on it as Netflix or Stan, due to the fact they’re sourcing films and shows that are only made by them.
But thankfully, they’re calling on all their brands to chuck content up, like Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars, so we can binge everything dozens of times.
“[This] creates a demand and gives us the ability to not necessarily be in the volume game, but to be in the quality game.”
In terms of new content, here’s some of what we can expect to premiere on Disney Play:
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars (final episodes)
- Live-action re-imagining of The Lady and The Tramp
- The new High School Musical TV series
- A new Monsters Inc. show
- An exciting new live-action Star Wars series

We cannot wait for binge on all our fave Disney films and relive the purity of childhood…
