The big wigs behind The Bachelorette are apparently thinking of swapping Ali Oetjen for Nikki Gogan on the upcoming series after Network Ten received a lot of backlash.
When Ali was announced as the new Bachelorette during the Bachelor In Paradise finale, fans were furious and took to social media to slam the network for casting someone "bland" and "boring".
Not long afterwards, Ali's Bachelor In Paradise beau, Grant Kemp, did an interview with New Idea where he said that she had cheated on him with one of his best friends.
Now, NW has reported that Network Ten are considering bringing in Richie Strahan's Bachelor runner-up, Nikki.
An alleged insider told the magazine that the show was a "disaster" and that "it would be a brutal move to replace Ali after she's been announced, but Nikki will bring in the ratings without a doubt – everyone is still obsessed with her finding The One."
UPDATE: A Network Ten spokesperson has now commented on the rumour, telling Mamamia that it is indeed, false:
“The rumour that Ali Oetjen will be replaced by Nikki Gogan as The Bachelorette is completely false and misleading.
“Network Ten is looking forward to Ali finding love on The Bachelorette Australia later this year.”
