Anyone born prior to 2000 was likely to have been witness to the good ol’ brick and flip phones that shook our world.
Now, the flip phone is making a comeback, because Apple might be making a foldable phone!
According to analysts from Wall Street bank Merril Lynch, Apple is aiming to produce a foldable phone by 2020.
It’s not going to be exactly like our old flip phones, with the device expected to double as a tablet when it’s unfolded.
Analyst Wamsi Mohan said, “We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past.
“Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”
While these reports are often released by investment banks, Apple was granted a patent for a hi-tech foldable iPhone in 2016.
This would be a huge advance in the current phone market, but is this something the public really wants or needs?
