Topshop has now abolished it's gender specific changing rooms after a customer was turned away from a women's changing room in the U.K.
Performance artist Travis Alabanza, who identifies as "trans feminine" was shopping in a Topshop store in Manchester and when they attempted to use the women's changing room to try on a dress, they were told by staff to go to the changing rooms in the Topman section of the store.
Travis later tweeted the store asking them: “Who made you in charge of deciding who is woman enough to use your changing room?
"You just lost an easy sale and money.”
The changing room policy was reportedly changed in winter according to The Sun, with a spokeswoman saying that "the Topshop and Topman fitting rooms are available for all customers to use.”
The changes have yet to be implemented in Topshop's Australian stores.
