TV Legend Cornelia Frances Has Been Diagnosed With Cancer Channel Seven

Heart breaking news this morning as we learn that Cornelia Frances is battling cancer.

The TV legend revealed that she found out the news after she went to the doctors for a general check-up.

The 76-year-old is mostly known for the roles on Sons and Daughters, Young Doctors, and her popular role on Home And Away

Cornelia told the The Daily Telegraph that just like her characters, she is a fighter.

Revealing, "I swear I have had a hex placed on me for the past 12 months. I discovered I had bladder cancer. This then spread to my hipbone which fractured, and then I almost died from loss of blood due to an ulcer in my throat. Despite all this, I am still here, as the old song goes."

It has been a tough road for Cornelia, but things are starting to look up.

Adding, "When I got the ulcer in my throat, I did truly believe that this time my luck had finally run out. I was a total mess according to my surgeon. He told me he didn't believe they could get me back from the brink but somehow they did."

Cornelia still has a little while until she is in remission, but she does have plans to appear back on Home And Away for the show's 30th birthday later this year if she is well enough.

We wish her a speedy recovery.
