Shia Labeouf has just opened up in a new post to Twitter after his recent drunken meltdown where he was arrested for disorderly conduct and threatening a police officer.
In the post, Shia confirms he has been “struggling with addiction publicly for far too long”.
“My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst,” he admitted.
Owning up to his behaviour, the actor says he will be taking steps to improve his life, secure his sobriety, and hopes he “can be forgiven” for his mistakes.

The 31-year-old lashed out after no one would give him a cigarette, “using profanities and vulgar language in front of the women and children present,” the police report states.
He became aggressive towards an officer, ran into a nearby hotel lobby, and later was released on bail for $3500 ($AUD 4600).
