Growing up, a lot of us would have listened to the music of Paramore to help us through the day.
The band delivered so many hits that the Indie lovers drooled over, but when lead singer Hayley Williams decided to leave he group in 2015, fans were shocked and didn’t know what to think.
Now, the band is back together and delivering some more bangers, but Hayley has recently opened up about the reason she left back then.
In an interview with The Fader, Hayley opened up about her private battle with depression.
Hayley revealed that, between recording albums, she realised she needed to step away from it all as she struggled with suffering from depression.
"For the first time in my life, there wasn’t a pinhole of light at the end of the tunnel.
"I thought, I just wish everything would stop. It wasn’t in the sense of, I’m going to take my life. It was just hopelessness. Like, What’s the point? I don’t think I understood how dangerous hopelessness is. Everything hurts."
Despite talking off the battle she faced during that time, she said it wasn’t the first time she had a brush with depression, having struggled with it for many years.
The decision to exit the band came as a result of it being so debilitations that she began to feel she had “nothing left to sing.
“I was just done. I thought, ‘There’s gotta be something else that I’m goof at in my life. Maybe it’s time for me to go find that’.”
The band is back on top with their new album After Laughter, and we are so glad that Hayley is on the up and up these days!
