While most of us didn’t know if Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was serious about running for President… we think it’s pretty safe to say now that he is.
A 2020 Presidential Campaign for The Rock has officially been filed with The Election Commission.
It has been rumoured since June 2016, that he would be in the Presidential race after Alyssa Rosenberg from The Washington Post wrote an opinion piece which stated that Dwayne could be a serious candidate.
The piece went viral and Dwayne even responded on social media.
At the time he called it, “interesting” and expressed how important it was for his country to have a serious leader.
He also released a statement, saying, “I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.”
Adding, “Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. [If I didn’t agree with someone] on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them.”
As of now, the official paperwork for him running as president has been filed on his behalf by a man from West Virginia called Kenton Tilford.
It is unknown what the connection is between the two at this stage.
Do you think he would be a good President?
