The Fast and Furious films have been blockbuster hits ever since they first graced our screens in 2001.
That considered, the world was shocked when they learned that one of the leads was threatening to leave the franchise.
Michelle Rodriguez took to her Instagram account recently to share the news that the latest film is finally out digitally, while also sharing a very strong opinion on the direction the film needs to take for women, threatening to leave the franchise if it does not.
Since posting the comments online, Michelle has again taken to social media to set some things straight.
Teaming up with co-star Vin Diesel, Michelle explained that her comments were in no way to be directed at him.
Michelle’s decision to perhaps leave the franchise unless “they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one,” had been taken as a dig at her male co-stars by some online users.
In her video with Vin, she said, “Vin, for many years you’ve been the biggest supporter of strong women.
“And I’ve always appreciated that about you throughout the years.
“And just know if I ever post anything, that’s not you I’m talking to.”
Vin then replied with, “Of course it’s not me!” laughing alongside Michelle.
These two are always perfect together, as onscreen lovers and offscreen best buds.
Here’s to hoping the next film steps up the representation of women so we get to see Letty again!
