Love Your Sister's Connie Johnson, the sister of actor Samuel Johnson, has passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Surrounded by family and friends, she passed away peacefully, after being moved into hospice care in July.
Just a few weeks ago, she took to the Love Your Sister Instagram page showing fans how she was spending her final days, and posted photos of herself drinking tea and colouring in with friends.
Just earlier today Connie was awarded the Order of Australia medal for her cancer charity work.
In a special bedside ceremony, Connie was awarded the honour by the Governor-General.
Connie was diagnosed with bone cancer at the young age of 11, before developing uterine cancer at 22, before her final terminal diagnoses of breast and liver cancer.
Her story was brought to life through Love Your Sister, an initiative started by her brother Samuel. He set a new world record for the longest distance travelled on a unicycle to raise money for breast cancer. He completed his journey in February 2014, and by the end of the year had raised more than $2 million to support Garvan's Breast Cancer Research.
Samuel actively kept followers updated with Connie's progress on the Love Your Sister social pages, he's latest post detailing how his sister "needed a lot of quiet time to try and comprehend what 'actively dying' brings". He wrote "She's as comfortable as can be and is being cared for superbly".
On behalf of all us here at the Hit Network, our thoughts and prayers are with Connie and Samuel's family and friends during this tragic time.
