Emily Ratajkowski has become one of the go-to It-girls on Instagram for us to getup fashion and fitness inspo fix.
With a legion of fans, she’s definitely not new to the spotlight, but she’s started off the year with fans slamming her recent Instagram post.
Emily took to the app to share a post, promoting her latest signing with haircare brand Keratase Paris.
She uploaded the following pic:
It’s not the pic or the current caption that had fans enraged, but rather the previous caption which was deleted and then edited.
According to The New York Post, the previous caption said, "Hair is a fundamental part of beauty, femininity, and identity. So excited to announce that I am the new face of @kerastase_official!”
Seems okay, right?
Well, no… It became offensive as there are many women who opt to chop off all their locks. It also doesn’t take into account women with cancer and other illnesses which cause them to lose their hair.
So her post linking hair to these concepts of femininity and beauty has been taken as a HUGELY insensitive remark.
Fans have called for Emily to apologise for her comments, instead of just editing the caption.
