If you HAVE watched Infinity War, then, like us, you’re probably still in a state of utter shock and going through the stages of grieving.

To say the ending to Infinity War was a lot to take in is an understatement.

We saw so many of our favourite characters vanish into thin freakin’ air and can’t deal with the long wait ahead of us before we find out if any of them are coming back.

While we wait, we’ve all just found out what Groot’s final words to Rocket were and we are bawling…

We’d already lost Groot once, but this was next level, added to the fact that the new Groot wasn’t even the old one!

According to Guardians writer/director James Gunn, he revealed back in February, “First Groot is dead. Baby Groot is his son.”

To break our hearts a little more, James took to Twitter to answer the fan  question, “Might be too soon to ask this, but do you know what Groot’s last line is at the end of the movie?”

As you all know, the iconic “I am groot” means different things - we seriously wish we could have taken Groot as a language subject at school.

James wrote back, revealing what the line actually meant, as it was written in the script.

Wait for it…

That’s right, Groot’s dying words to Rocket, as he stood watching his son die again, were “Dad.”

I’m sorry, but I cannot handle this today…

Dear Marvel team, please bring back all my beloved characters. Now. Not a minute later.

Please….?
