A while ago, we found out that a sequel to Zombieland was in the works and we were, well... excited would be an understatement.
At the time, Columbia Pictures hadn't revealed whether the film's original cast would be reuniting for the sequel because they all have their own busy lives and movie schedules at the moment... but guess what?!
We now know that the original cast IS coming back!
Sony Pictures announced over the weekend that Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Jesse Eisenberg will all be returning to fight some zombies and chill out in celebrities' houses!
But that's not all, the whole gang from the original Zombieland including director Ruben Fleischer and writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (who wrote both of the Deadpool films) will be coming back to work on the sequel!
This all means that the second movie should be just as good, if not better, than the original!
The Hollywood Reporter had revealed a very vague description of the plot and it sounds pretty damn good, to be honest:
"The new movie will once again put the focus on comic mayhem, taking the quartet from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.
"But, most of all, according to the studio, they have to face the growing pains of their snarky, makeshift family."
Zombieland 2 will begin filming in January and is expected to be released in October 2019.
