After waiting for what seems like forever, we’ve finally been given our first trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Gridlewald!
Look, I don’t want to spoil anything, so watch it first and then we’ll talk:
Let’s first take a look at what may be the most important shot in the whole trailer.
This ‘Wizarding World’ logo:
This is something we have never seen before and looks to establish what will now be an official umbrella for all our Harry Potter universe franchises.
This Wizarding World brand will now allow J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers to create more magical films outside the Harry Potter storyline!
We’re talking the adventures of kids in other Hogwarts houses, decades, schools, worlds - anything!
Okay, now let’s talk about the rest of this trailer.
The first glimpse at the second instalment of the Fantastic Beasts series takes us back home to Hogwarts as some magical authorities pay Professor Dumbledore a visit.
They are interrogating him over the whereabouts of our boy Newt Scamander, who they hear is headed to Paris.
Hell yes! Magical Paris in the 1920s is exactly what we want to see!
One question that I've also seen bursting out of fans' mouths is why they are able to even apparate into Hogwarts in the first place.
So, it's worth reminding everyone that you can actually apparate into the grounds with permission from the headmaster. And something tells me authorities from the Ministry of Magic (if that's where they're from) were probably granted that.
Side Note: House-elves are also less restricted with Apparition, remember when Dobby paid Harry a visit in the hospital wing?
Also, how good does young Dumbledore look? Look at that coat!
Will he look this dapper throughout the whole series or will he slowly start wearing quirkier clothes like that ‘flamboyantly cut suit of plum velvet” he wore in the books?
Can we please point out this Michael Gambon-esk smile Jude Law nails here:
Very well done!
How fun is it going to be seeing old Hogwarts?
We get our teeniest little taste here with Dumbledore standing in what we later know as the Defence Against The Dark Arts classroom.
It looks like back then it was used for Transfiguration classes, because that’s what Dumbledore taught before becoming Headmaster!
ALSO, OMG JACOB AND QUEENIE ARE BACK, THANK GOODNESS!
I am all about this ball!
And this magic circus!
Zoe Kravitz as Leta Lestrange looks stunning!
Tina is also looking particularly more badass than when we last left her!
Sorry, stop. Stop. Who. Is. This?
Someone tell me.
Credence the Obscurial is also back after having survived the MACUSA attack at the end of the last film and looks like he is controlling his powers a little better:
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald comes out on November 15 in Australia!
