Just when we thought we'd seen the last of Shrek, he comes crawling back into our lives.
Turns out producers are planning on bringing back the legendary ogre for one last film.
Because people still love him.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Micheal McCullers, who recently worked on The Boss Baby, said that a fifth Shrek movie is definitely in the works.
"Shrek Five is being developed. I finished that script, which I really, really, really love.
"I finished that script, which I really, really, really love.
"It's really personal to me. It's got a pretty big reinvention behind it that I guess I can't reveal."
"It's got a pretty big reinvention behind it that I guess I can't reveal."
So it's going to be different according to Michael.
But, how different exactly?
Probably not too much different because Eddie Murphy is ready to return to the franchise as Donkey.
The actor has lent his voice to the four-legged funny man since the very first Shrek film.
He told CinemaBlend that he'd be keen to come back for a fifth film because he'd also heard about the script being written.
"They took a nice long break.
"The next Shrek... I think Jeffrey [Katzenburg, producer] told me 2019? 2019 or 2020, it will be ready.
"But they've got a good script, they wrote a nice good script."
The last Shrek film, Shrek Forever After, was released in 2010 and audiences seemed to have thought that would have been the last we'd see of the ogre.
Eddie explained to Collider that because audiences loved the characters so much, Dreamworks would be crazy not to release another instalment.
"Anything that's been as successful as Shrek, anything that people really like, they're always going to make those movies.
"They don't stop making those types of movies until the audience says 'no more!'"
