The Golden Globe Award nominations have been released today and there are a number of Aussies we can cheer on next year!
The awards which recognise achievements in both television and film are the biggest indicator of who will go on to win film Oscars and television Emmys… and the following four performers are doing us proud:
Katherine Langford - Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama
Katherine made a huge impact on audiences for her performance as Hannah Baker in the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. Creating a name for herself in LaLa Land, executive producer Selena Gomez posted this cute congratulations message:
Nicole Kidman - Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
We can always count on Nicole Kidman for a great performance. Helping to bring Aussie author Liane Moriarty’s book Big Little Lies to the small screen, Nicole has been nominated for her powerful performance as Celeste, an elegant former attorney turned stay-at-home mum, who is secretly suffering from an abusive husband.
Geoffrey Rush - Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
We’re not even surprised when Geoffrey Rush gets nominated anymore. Up for his portrayal of Albert Einstein in the National Geographic series Genius, this is the actor’s fifth Golden Globe nomination and if won, will be his third win!
Hugh Jackman - Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy
What’s an awards show without Hugh Jackman? The only Aussie actor nominated for a film award. Hugh is up for his performance as P. T. Barnum in new musical The Greatest Showman!
