Now that we're in the very first month of a brand new year, you're probably trying to think of ways to change up your wardrobe, make-up drawer or your home decor.
If you're leaning towards the home decor end of things, whilst sifting through various images on Pinterest, you've probably come across a strange new trend that's taken over the homes of bookworms across the globe.
Instead of displaying their books on bookshelves with the spines facing out, so you know which book is which, people are now starting to display their books with the page-end facing outwards, so that you have NO IDEA which book is which!
Why? That's what I plan on finding out!
From what is happening on Instagram, it looks like this backwards book trend is mainly used for aesthetic reasons, basically making your house look prettier because you don't have ugly, time-worn books on display (or at least, it's harder to see them) and instead, you have calming white and beige book pages staring back at you.
People could potentially be doing things because they've run out of things they want to read, or don't want to go out and buy another book so they've chosen to re-read the books they already own, and have flipped the books so that they can pick something at random.
But no one has been able to confirm this, so at this stage, it looks like this is happening purely because it makes your house look pretty.
Some people may enjoy displaying their books like this, but from what we can see here, the internet isn't on board with the trend, AT ALL!
Would you display your books backwards?
