Nobody likes acne.
It's the worst.
It's no secret that acne can wreak havoc on your skin and as soon as puberty hits, it's usually the first "change" you start to notice.
Scientists know that acne can suck so now, they've decided to rid us of the blasted skin irritating issue for good!
Allure magazine has reported that scientists at the University of California in San Diego are currently working on an antibody to the toxin that causes breakouts.
Lead researcher Eric Huang explained that the toxin that creates acne can actually be good for you, so they can't get rid of it completely.
“Acne is caused, in part, by P. acnes bacteria that are with you your whole life — and we couldn’t create a vaccine for the bacteria because, in some ways, P. acnes are good for you.
“But we found an antibody to a toxic protein that P. acnes bacteria secrete on skin — the protein is associated with the inflammation that leads to acne.”
The research will continue over the next two years as clinical testing begins.
But guys, it's happening.
They're getting rid of acne.
